Developing reading and comprehension skills
A reading spine, whether for guided reading, suggested reads for every year group, or whole class reads, should expose pupils to a wide range of exciting and enriching texts. The following are practices often used by schools to support their English curriculum – both within lessons and in additional time set aside:
